Low Pressure or Normal Tanning Beds	These bulbs look like a standard florescent tube. They may be referred to as "low pressure" lamps because their internal components are under less pressure than the surrounding atmosphere. Because of no filters both UVA and UVB rays pass through
High Pressure	Most high pressure tanning systems have elaborate ultra violet filtering systems, which effectively block UVB rays and some of the more advanced systems even remove the higher frequencies of the UVA. Leaving only the most effective part of the spectrum to provide a deep, long lasting tan and virtually eliminating the risk of burning. Additionally, a second filtering system removes a large percentage of the infra red spectrum for a cooler tan, and also the white light is toned down for amore relaxing environment. UVB rays are necessary to regular sunbeds to activate the melanin and produce a tan, but because of the special lamps and filters, almost pure UVA is used to produce a wonderful, long lasting tan.
What is the difference between low pressure units & high pressure units?	Low pressure units emit both UVA & UVB at a low energy level. Low pressure units will give more of a red tone tan, and you'll need to maintain more often. High pressure units generate UVC, UVB, & UVA, but by means of a sophisticated filtering system, only UVA is emitted during a tanning session. It will take fewer sessions with a high pressure unit it to build a tan and to keep it. More of a natural golden tan.

	Sunsport High Pressure The Sunport High Pressure is primarily UVA it has only a fraction of a percent of UVB (the burning ray) that gets through so it is a virtually a none burning bed. Because this bed is primarily UVA rays your rate of exfoliation is not as rapid as other methods of tanning thus you hold on to your tan a lot longer. You need to only tan on the Sunsport 1-2 times per month to maintain a great golden tan. Another benefit of this bed is there is so little of the burning ray your skin does not thicken (acthentosis- associated with premature aging/wrinkles).
